I can't help it, it's ultimately a small film that'll probably fade from memory soon, but still, Batman v Superman still gets on my nerves as a lackluster disappointment, and all it's unleashed that I want to talk and complain about, just want to get it otu of my system for good. For one, it cost $250 million and that's all they came up with for what could have been one of the greatest films of all time just from the basic idea alone, so much potential wasted, like having a whole nuclear reactor and using it to power three rundown houses. And then there's the public reaction, which I'm sick of. There's the suddenly-shallow news and review sites that use the shallow "light or serious" dichotomy to complain about the film, like a conformist mentality where everyone online has to say it should be less or more "self-serious", like there are not millions of other ways to look at things. And that's another point, why is it only this specific brand of spec-fic that gets the whole articles on the new York Times how "seriousness is not the solution", not any other of dozens of genres get this absolutism. And then there's the sites, who never cared about superhero fiction before but suddenly make a whole list of what they say superhero films should be. The ignoring of over a hundred years of worldwide films and over 75 of comics history and comics themselves, since I've loved comics and films since I was able to read, absolutely, probably eccentrically, in depth, I don't know I still have all my Marvel/DK guides form when I was a kid. And another thing, why do the stereotyped "comic book style" in stuff like one episode of Mythbusters never look like actual comics art? And why is it always "comic book movie"? Why is "comic book" used as an adjective, I mean it's a medium, words and pictures, and superheroes are far from the only subject matter.
...I'm off to see it right now , on about the last day (I think) I can see it in San Francisco...........

...And a DC movie , too ! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!
Always more a DC kid myself...Actually , how about the religious generally)/Christian (more specifically) imagry/lyric references ?
Expanding that , it was interesting to have characters in a Super-story wonder about " What is Superman doing to us/what does he mean ? " ~ Oh , and have someone call out the daily Planet for its being a blatant Superman fanzine/violating J-School " correct journalism "
! !! !! !! !! !!
I second that!
