They recently released this in the USA on DVD...the first season. Did anyone else watch this rather cool mix of romance and crime from the 80s, starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman? I love it.

I remember seeing some episodes of it when I was in 4th grade. I thought it was strange the beast lived in the sewers and the woman's name was Catherine instead of Belle. I was so used to the Disney version.

I liked it in the early seasons, but the last few were atrocious, and needlessly violent.

I cannot even remember how many seasons they made? I thought it was 3? I do not recall the violence. I am enjoying season 1 thus far. They don't make things like this anymore...shame.

I remember that show. When I was a kid I loved watching those big productions and I loved beuty and the beast so it was a good fit. But in canada I can never find it.

I loved that show too. I was very crushed since it was one of my fav.'s.

Why did it get cancelled anyway?
