What are any of the Star Trek fans here going to do? I'll probably watch my favourite episodes or go around giving people the Vulcan salute. By the way, which Star Trek character are you most like in terms of personality? I'm a little like Jadiza Dax, I guess, but much quieter and daydream-y.

I could watch the marathon on BBC if I'm not busy. I think I used to be most like Odo but I'm not sure which one I'm most like nowadays.

This is a major galactic anniversary!

I may spend it in Vulcan meditation. We shall see.

^That sounds like a great plan! I'll make it so.

I wonder if it'll be in the newspapers?

I wonder if those coins will be worth anything in the future. I know absolutely nothing about collecting.

I rewatched some TOS episodes. As for the character I'm most like, hmm. I picked my username on here because one of my friends jokingly calls me Data now and then, since I tend to analyze everything. I had tried, unsuccessfully of course, to break down complex emotions into their simpler components. He laughed, said that's not possible, and called me Data. LOL. Actually though, I can relate to many of the characters in different ways.

Well, I can forget about the geeks celebrating my 59th on Sept.8 (Not that it matters, since I don't celebrate my birthday myself, except for kicking myself in the ass, groin, privates, head, whatever.)

Most specialty collectible coins of this kind don't really appreciate much in value -- they'll generally be worth only a little bit more than they originally cost. The only one making money is the mint that makes them.

But if I had extra money, I'd still buy one or two.

I'm most like Zachary Quinto as Spock, and also my heart belongs to Zachary Quinto Spock. Did I mention I like Zachary Quinto as Spock?

All the great opening themes:

I love them all, but as a piece of symphonic music, I really think DS9's was something special.

^I agree! DS9 had that emphatic, shivery something, sort of heroic, yet sort of hesitant. Voyager's had an embarking on a new adventure kind of feel.

I was told at the time that I am a lot like Lt. Cmdr. Data. I believe that the individuals who said this to me (including at least one complete stranger), were actually describing one or more of my autistic behaviors and characteristics. Nonetheless, I recognized that I did resemble actor Brent Spiner. I guess I continue to resemble him, too.

But, emotionally, I prefer Constable Odo. At least actor René Auberjonois doesn't seem to me to be the political critic that I believe his cohort actors Spiner and Will Wheaton are.

I wonder how many people here identify with the red shirts?

You just wrote that because, as Santa, you are always wearing red shirts ... and jackets, hats and pants!
