Hulu Commercials?

I just found out that Hulu has a few shows I really want to see that Netflix doesn't have and I'm considering getting an account. I know that Hulu has unskippable commercials (I'm not paying extra to get rid of them), so I have a question: how do they do the commercials? Do they insert them where the show would normally have a commercial break? Because I'd be okay with that. Or does Hulu just stick them wherever they want, and they end up interrupting the shows right in the middle of the action? Because I would not be okay with that.
