We have favorite movies, unfavorite movies, overrated movies, underrated movies, movies by decade, movies by genre...

How about those movies that you initially didn't like, but came to enjoy over time?

Anyway, here is my top 5:

1. Groundhog Day (1993)
2. Inglorious Basterds (2009)
3. Starship Troopers (1997)
4. Fargo (1996)
5: 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Blazing Saddles

First time watching these, I was kind of 'Meh', but now I have all of them on Blu-ray.

Casino Royale. The 2006 one, not the one with David Niven and Peter Sellers.

1) Casablanca, when I figured out how earnest it was.

2) The Shining. I thought It was a pretty straight forward ghost story, but I got more interested after I saw some of the recent documentaries about it, such as room 237.

3) In Bruges. There are many supernatural happenings in that film, that I did not notice until the second viewing. Martin Mcdonagh is now one of my favourite directors.

It took quite some time for me to enjoy both of the "Iron Man" sequels, and to this day, I still think the first is the best. I remember seeing the second film, not really understanding most of it, then buying the Blu-Ray and still being unable to keep up all the way in my head. About a year later, I finally watched it again, and was surprised at how much it suddenly made sense. My only gripe is that Whiplash's final fight was too short, though seeing Tony & Rhodey battle "Hammeroids" together was sweet. :)

Like many fans, I despised what Shane Black and Kevin Feige did to the Mandarin in "Iron Man 3", and it still makes me cringe a bit. On the whole though, I enjoyed it much more the second time around. I'm hoping they make a fourth one with Robert and Gwyneth, or at least have Tony pass the armor to someone else in one of the "Avengers" sequels.

Serenity

As a huge Firefly fan, I was very disappointed when I first saw this movie. I really felt like they copped-out and made "Buffy in Space" rather than a proper sequel. With time a subsequent viewings, I can enjoy the movie for what it is--just okay.

The Michael Bay Transformers movies. What can I say? I like the Autobots and Decepticons.

I hated The Breakfast Club the first time I saw it, but now it's one of my favourite films. I must have seen it at least ten times.

The Big Lebowski when I first saw it in the theatre I wasn't that impressed but, my friend was constantly quoting it to me. After it came out on video I watched many more times. Now I can almost quote the movie from beginning to end.

Movies don't really "grow" on me. The exception is movies I saw as a kid, when I was old enough to read the subtitles, but not old enough to understand the plot.

I thought Fargo was severely overrated the first time I saw it. Now I realize it is a masterpiece. I was in severe depression when I first saw it.

Yeah Groundhog Day grew on me. At first I couldn't stand it and thought it was stupid. But after a few views I started to see the subtle message it was giving. Bill Murry is a great actor too.

Mullholland Drive grew on me after the first few views. The first time I saw it I was freaked out and thought I'd never watch it again. But now I really like it.
