I'm certainly not a Disney devotee, but they've done a lot of amazing movies.
Some favorite animated films:
Beauty and the Beast - one of the greatest animated movies ever, so much so that I actually have a little anxiety about seeing the live action one because the reviews have been good but not great
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - it actually wasn't a favorite as a child, but I saw it again recently and it's an amazing film.
The Sword in the Stone - great story, and I love that rough animation style
The Princess and the Frog - I absolutely love this film. They captured the New Orleans spirit perfectly. This one's definitely underrecognized. Tangled is good too, but this is far and away my favorite recent Disney animated film
Big Hero 6 - The only recent animated Disney film that can compete with Princess and the Frog IMO, this one's just a ton of fun. I didn't actually realize it was Disney, though.
Treasure Planet - I love pirates, I love sci-fi, and I love Robert Louis Stevenson, so this checks off a lot of boxes for me. Definitely underrated.
I need to rewatch Aladdin, Mulan, The Lion King, The Rescuers Down Under, The Great Mouse Detective, and The Fox and the Hound - I loved them growing up, but it's been way too long since I've seen them to say anything valuable about them.
