There's many sci-fi movies, many some of us would even argue aren't even sci-fi films, but what are the key common elements which make one stand out from the rest?
For me its primarily the future vision that matters most, a look at what could be, how to think differently, and what the possible outcomes may be, good and bad.
Next, being an artist and cgi fan it has to be the style and design. I like art house classics with epic scenes to mesmerise me into trance, which I'll then want as posters or wallpapers for my desktop.
I'd like to say I want big budget actors but I'm quite happy without, even prefer it sometimes because they aren't still typecast from their last film.
