Apparently James Gunn hinted at a gay character among the team. While I'm not pro gay or anything I'm OK with this although despite what I might say sounds like I may be against LGBT community I'm kinda hoping it's not Rocket. I know that this might sound like a judge by the book thing but a badass talking Raccoon with a machine gun doesn't sound like the gay type. I know not all gay men are the Graham Norton or that guy whomwas Lily Savage type. I don't hate homosexuals I have no reason to but sometimes for some reason it makes me a little nervous. I know I should just deal with it but it's a little hard. I am autistic though I can't really blame it entirely on that and I know more LGBT characters are showing up in movies nowadays and to be fair I don't really mind unless it's the right person. I mean if they made Superman or Spider-Man gay it wouldn't be right because that's not who they were. Now I'm not saying it isn't right for anyone to be gay or bi. It could be Mantis though I do hear that she might have a thing going on with Drax, I can't see it being Groot because he's a baby tree with only 3 words though it could be Nebula. If you have seen the movie then can you please tell me.

Curiously, the comic book it's based upon featured two prominent LGBT members: Quasar (Phyla) and Moondragon, who were in a relationship. Quasar was gay, whilst Moondragon was bi. Both were incredibly badass and arguably among the most powerful (ranged) members of the team. I've seen neither announced to be included (I love Phyla and I'd hoped for her addition to the team). I can't think of anyone else who would fit the bill according to the source material. But it would be ballsy of them if it were Drax. There's a definite shortage of badass gay action heroes in film and TV.

You do know he had a wife and daughter who were killed by Ronan

Forgot about that part. In the comics, he also had a family but they were killed by Thanos (in fact, his daughter would grow up to become Moondragon). But in the comics continuity, he is human before he is transformed into Drax; he's not an alien.

I feel it's immaterial; in real life, there are many instances of gay men and lesbian women who are in a heterosexual relationship, with children-- Drax having had a family doesn't preclude the possibility of him being gay.

Yondu Udonta. He was actually one of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, from way back in the seventies, next to Vance Astro, Starhawk, Nikki, Charlie-27, and Martinex. Now that was a cool space team. The later Guardians were basically a bunch of Marvel's cosmic B-listers thrown together, with the exception of Infinity Watch alumni like Drax, Gamora, and Warlock.

Anyone would be fine. Some of the most masculine and fierce people are gay.

The Spartans, who were perhaps the best soldiers of all time, practised homosexuality, whether they were born gay or not. Alexander the Great, perhaps the greatest war leader of all time, was a homosexual.

With the villain being Ayesha (HER) is there a possibility HER is a gay character? Or could HIM Adam Warlock appear as well?

But James Gunn said it was someone among the team. I hate not knowing. We knew who the gay characters in Star Trek Beyond, Independence Day 2, Beauty and the Beast and Power Rangers were before they came out so why not this. I wish to know to put my mind at ease.
