What good movies could I see in theaters this year, probably Summer? I usually prefer older movies (pre-2006), and don't really connect with popular movies and TV that well today. I'm trying to find out what my tastes are, for example, I already ruled out action and superhero stuff. While I did see Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, I only listened to the songs in the theater. I also seen Batman vs. Superman, but the fast-pace was too much to get into.

I remember seeing "Daddy's Home" last year, and even though I don't really recall every important detail of the plot and characters, story, I thought it was a really good goofy comedy.

The first time I was in a movie theater was when we saw "Toy Story 2". I also seen "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius", "The Spongebob Squarepants Movie", and a lot of other cartoon movies at the local cinema when I was little too.

The only three movies I've seen in theatres this year so far have been Beauty and the Beast (the live-action remake), Wilson (an adaptation of a comic book by Daniel Clowes starring Woody Harrelson), and the Captain Underpants movie.

I don't know if you have an Alamo Drafthouse anywhere near you, but they often do special screenings of older movies if they simply hold your interest more and you just want the experience of seeing a film on the big screen.

In terms of movies premiering this year that look promising:

Baby Driver
Ferdinand
It (yes, this is a remake of the original Stephen King-based made-for-TV movie)
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
