I was such a big fan of this show when I was a kid. It taught me so much about literature. It was really my first exposure to many fine works of literary art. The reason I bring it up is that at my aspie support group one of the members brought his toy Wishbone dog at it made me get some Nastalgia from when I was young. Did anyother aspies obsess over this show as much as I did?

I used to watch that show a lot-I think I remember it being on after I got home from school. It was a great concept and a very good quality show-a lot of the kid's shows on PBS were (I loved Ghostwriter, Mark Kistler's Imagination Station, Reading Rainbow, etc.).

I loved Reading rainbow too! It was such a great show- to make kids WANT to read is so important. What I LOVED about Wishbone was that it made those great works of fiction accessable to young kids and maybe it would make them want to read them.

I read so many books as a kid thanks to that show. I never really liked the parallel real-life stories that happened to the kids, though. The Oddessey one was my favorite, the lady had hair like my favorite spaghetti, the long hollow curly kind. I think I read all the classic books in our local library by the 11th grade. My sister is not a reader, but thanks to Wishbone, she at least knows a little about classic literature.

Wow!! ! Other people who loved Wishbone!! ! That's great. I loved watching this show and I still use it when people talk about books that Wishbone did. I thought the dog was cute and I loved how they used modern events to help explain the book. I know it really helped me in high school and college since reading classics is hard for me to do.

I also loved Reading rainbow!! ! That is a great show, too. I love reading picture books so I really enjoyed the show.

I was already an adult when I discovered Wishbone, but I still liked it a lot. I loved the parallel stories and Utopic neighborhood those kids lived in. I was very sad they stopped airing it. There's lots of animation on PBS these days.

I loved Wishbone & wish a follow-up series would air on PBS although that would be very hard to pull off.
