The odd thing is, I usually find a part of me that wants to live in this world. Why? I asked myself that question. Its mostly the collapse of social obligations like taxes, getting a mortgage, formal education (I am largely self educated and only went to the university because I needed a piece of paper in order to get a job in the sciences that I had already taught myself), etc.

Yes, you would have to grow your own food, and most of us don't really appreciate what a job subsistence agriculture is, and how fickle it can be. Clothing wouldn't be a problem with 99% of the world dead. There are enough out there to keep everyone clothed forever.

And what about the walkers and tyrants that make this world so dangerous? Well, the world in which we now live is dangerous to people on the spectrum. At least in WD, you can move away more easily and or kill them.

Edited to add: Another thing that appeals to me in WD: Many of the communities are true socalist/communist ones.
