When I was younger, there was a show called "Life After People." Every episode would explain in great detail how certain man-made places and landmarks would be destroyed by natural causes if all of humanity were to suddenly disappear and leave everything behind.

The visuals were always dark and gloomy, the narrator had a really deep voice and would pump drama into everything he said; I just found everything about the show to be super unsettling. Whenever I watched it, I never managed to get past the question of "What happened to the people?" even though I knew that wasn't the point.

I remember the episode that frightened me the most; it was about what would happen to livestock and house pets if humans just poofed away. As one might expect, the dogs and cats of the world were stuck in their houses with no way to get food, and were forced to escape and become feral, if they were able to. I'll never forget this exact line: "They either escape from their homes... or die." o_O

When I was about 8 there was a kids' show (i don't know what it was called, it might have been something about a magic box, or maybe I'm mixing it up). Anyway, in the intro there is a box that is opened and all sorts of images comes out, one of a sheltie. The sheltie is beautiful but it was so eerie how the dog came out of the box and the the mood was creepy, and for some reason that I can't quite explain, I found it eerie.

When I was 12 I watched "the winds or war" (or was it "war and remembrance"?). In this particular episode it showed the concentration camp Natalie was in. In one scene there was a woman under a train wagon with this big-eyed glassy stare. That really freaked me out. The following night I had a nightmare about those eyes.

Nature shows scare me witless when they focus on how wildlife are disappearing, how bad the climate and plastic pollution is, and how bad the human overpopulation really is and gets worse every single day.

The show ‘Lazy Town’ freaks me out a lot for some reason. It seems almost demonic in a sense due to production design.

President Trump's "State of the Union Address" -- it's like watching Dr. Jekyl and waiting for him to go all Mr. Hyde on us.

The first time I saw Fatal Attraction, it was probably the scariest movie I had ever seen.

Trump’s voice makes me physically ill.

When I very first saw Life After People (it came on TV) I was absolutely freaked out. It scared me for weeks after seeing it.

But my fearfulness of the show turned into fascination, and I started looking up bits of it on Youtube. I became less scared. Now I own TWO box sets of it! :D

I was deathly terrified of America's Most Wanted when I was a kid. They showed all these killers and rapists that the FBI was trying to capture. There were a lot of gory scenes and the killers and rapists were freaky looking. I used to get nightmares from that show and so did my siblings.

Not sure if that's terrifying or just really depressing
