Oh come on! Cult of Chucky came out a year ago. At least conclude the story arc before deciding to reboot it and if the reboot doesn't have Brad Dourif, I'll skip it.

Yeah, if they have plans for more, they should focus on that first.

I'll still definitely see it though! The first 3 were great, as are Curse and Cult of Chucky.

To be fair the Child's Play series quickly went off the rails from the 4th movie on. The writing became increasingly bad to the point of effectively ignoring its own established rules. A reboot was sorely needed and hinted at least 1 movie prior.

If you are a Chucky fan reading this, just be glad Brad Dourif will star in the TV show as Chucky, which leads to a question; the question being: Who do you think should be the voice of Chucky for the reboot?

The link doesn't work with Adblock and I'm definitely not disabling it.

I didn't know there was a show about Chucky.

Considering Freddy got a tv show way back when and Chucky is probably the most mouthy slasher villain it was only a matter of time.

According to many articles, the Chucky TV show will pick up where the movies left, so the TV show will be in turn part of the original canon.

As for who should play Chucky for the reboot, whoever is cast as the new Chucky should play him in a convincing manner, but obviously different from Brad Dourif.

Sounds like a terrible cash grab :)

Curse of Chucky is how you do a reboot: you can definitely "start over" without having to retcon all of the previous movies.

Looking forward to the TV show.

I’m on the fence since I was always excited for the idea of a reboot. Focus more on who Lee Charles was in the beginning, which in turn could make Chucky scarier.

Then again, I may be one of the rare people who loves the Halloween remakes due to going into Jason’s psychology.

Michael Myers is the villain in the Halloween series whereas Jason Voorhees is the villain in the Friday The 13th films.
