Anyone ever seen the old black/white WWII movie called "Mr. Winkle Goes To War"? The star of the movie was Edward G. Robinson. He usually played "heavies", but not in this movie. In this film he played a mostly mild-mannered guy, and he did an excellent job of it. There was some humor in the movie, but mostly it was more heartwarming, and at times you couldn't help wanting to help him out of his problems, but he eventually manages to get himself out of bad situations. Also, although mild-mannered, his character was not a coward.
The movie came out in 1944 and the action takes place in 1942, first in his town and home, and then in the military. Watch the movie--it's very good!
Keep safe and well all!
