I'm a 33 year old women and as of today I have an intense crush on Princess Anna. I'm wondering if this is at all normal. Is there an age where you're supposed to outgrow crushes on Disney characters? I haven't had one since I was six it was on Princess Belle and then later Princess Ariel given that circumstance I'm a little unsettled. Does any other adult have a crush on a Disney character? Please comment. I would like to know.

Hmmm....

Your profile says "female", but you have crushes on female characters. So I assume that you must be lesbian.

Well, I am straight male person of the boomer generation. A child long after the Snow White and Seven Dwarves came out in theaters in my parents' day, but long before this new era when Disney renewed its penchant for making animated epics.

Never watched the movie, but I did/do have lustful thoughts about Ariel (and I suspect I am not the only guy), the Little Mermaid.

That exotic princess who hangs out with Alladdin is rather lust inspiring to me too (is that the princess you're talking about?). I don't lust for the old classic characters like Snow White from the Thirties though.

So...if you're talking about the modern era of Disney, its more of question of becoming OLD enough to crush, not one of being "too old to have crushes on them". I didn't have either lustful, nor romantic feelings towards Disney characters when I was a child. But do now, but only towards some characters in the post 1990 era. So to me its a sign of either (a) me becoming a dirty old man, or (b) Disney being more manipulative towards the audience than back in the day by tweeking their animated heroines by making them just a tad more seductive than back in the day.

Anyway... that's coming from my pov. Don't know how that applies to a female lesbian.

Eh, I don't think it's strange. I'm 28 and kind of crushing on Rapunzel.

While I think it would be nice to meet a real-life Moana or Mulan, having a "crush" on a fictional animated character just seems sad to me.

Couldn't you say it's the same as having a crush on a celebrity? They're pretty much as unobtainable as a fictional character.

At least with a real-life celebrity, there is some real chance of shaking hands with the real person. With an animated character, you might only get ink stains on your fingers.

Hahaha. What about dating someone who dresses up the character in the Disney parks? But I guess that would be using them though.

I am part of the anime community, crushes on animated characters is very common and normal. I think that it is completely fine as long as you keep one foot on the ground, that finding a person in real life that can make you feel like that would be an ideal. Do what makes you happy, as long as you don't sacrifice a genuine connection you might find.

I don't currently have any crushes, including Disney specific.
