Would a no slang subtitle option be good for movies?

I'm Canadian, so I am not the best when it comes to American slang, but when it comes to watching movies like Shaft and Sweet Sweetback's Badass Song, or the British movie Kill List, and I cannot understand half of what they are saying pretty much. I wish they would have a no slang subtitle option that was just in plain layman's English.

Or is that not a good thing to have such an option?

I think that'd be a good idea. I'd probably use that sometimes.
