I had viewed the 1992 film 'The Player' with director's audio commentary; an interesting experience to view director's commentary on a movie whose plot is basically like a meta-narrative on the motion-picture industry. Several known celebrities portrayed themselves in 'The Player.'
Being a two-hour movie, I had to break down the viewing (with director's audio commentary) into about a dozen ten-minute snippets in order to absorb the nature of the movie.
STORY: Robert Altman's 'The Player' is a Meta-Exploration of Hollywood's Twisted Self-Obsession.
