It just so happens that younger women like middle-aged men. It's really not that unusual to see at least a 10-year age difference in couples, with the man being older.
It's not just middle-aged men liking younger women. It's a two-way street.

It was fairly common in the old days for someone to have a sibling at least 20 years older than that someone.
It was also fairly common for people to marry in their teens about 3 or more generations ago. Then to marry someone else many decades later.
President Grover Cleveland, in the 1890s. married a person whom he sponsored when he was a young adult man, and she was a baby. There wasn't really that much of a fuss raised at this.
