Remember Duckman(1990s Cartoon)?

So.. not Darkwing Duck, not Ducktails. This was a weirdly awesome cartoon from the mid 1990s, that aired on The USA cable network, in The United States. It may have aired other places outside the usa but not sure. It was made by the same people who did Rugrats and Ahh! real monsters (I think). First time I saw this show was early 1995, when I was in 8th grade. I about peeded myself laughing as it was so odd and I have kind of a dark sense humor, so I " got it".

I have the whole series on DVD. It's a shame the show never got past that cliffhanger and the creator passed away several years ago.

I remember watching this late at night as a kid.

We had Duckman downunder.
We even named our goldfish "Fluffy" and "Uranus"

Yes, I loved that show. Looks like I may have only seen the first 2 seasons, as they're the only ones I can find copies of. And they're all on YouTube. Looks like I haven't seen S3 or S4. Excellent

Also not Howard The Duck, the worst movie ever.

That's a solid suggestion for worst movie ever.

I personally, rarely saw Duckman just because it tended to be on fairly late at night, and I think I was watching other stuff when it was on. But, when I watched it, it was usually pretty good. I'm not sure if it's good enough for me to bother buying though.

Yes, although, the other issue is that I've got a massive collection of DVDs and BRs from over the last 26 years and I haven't watched most of them recently. Even if I just stick to the stuff that I really love, I'd be looking at most of my spare time for the next year or two.

Personally though, I'm of the idea that if something isn't good enough to justify buying, it's also not good enough to justify getting from nautical themed sites either. I'll make an exception occasionally for stuff like the made for TV Star Wars stuff that isn't available for purchase and that most people don't even acknowledge exist, but typically, there's so much stuff available and worth buying for a few bucks these days, that if it's not, I won't.

That being said, when I've got more time, I'd consider looking to see if the library has it, just as a bit of a reminder about my recollection of it.

And if you want to be 100% certain of being legal you can simply watch it on YouTube, and there are ways of downloading it from the URLs if you want a personal copy, or just hate being on YouTube.

Still, if you have better things to do with your time, do them, obviously.

I tried for years to get my young sons to call be "Dod" but it never worked. They did not watch it, so it probably did not connect. Jason Alexander, Duckman!

I loved that movie & even bought the soundtrack Those shows were really good too.
I loved Duckman as well & bought the first two DVDs long before the complete series was released. I really like his ranting because despite sounding crazy at the time, he does make a point about how living in the world makes people crazy





This is more of a speech than a rant but he made a great point about comedy as well

I used to watch it on Teletoon (Canada's answer to Cartoon Network) late at night. Pretty underrated show and so much more clever and funnier than most modern adult animated shows, where the creators seem to think all they have to do is be as offensive as possible.

I remember how the two teddy bears Fluffy and Uranus would do something overly politically correct, such as giving Duckman lemonade that tasted awful because the lemons were rotten, because apparently it's cruel to even consume fruit unless it has died of natural causes, and it would annoy Duckman so much he'd Fluffy and Uranus them in various ways, including eating them. But then they'd be back in a later episode so I guess they were like Kenny from South Park.

Right, they always were lit on fire, went through a paper shredder or what have you. Duckman paved the way for Family Guy and South Park. Which IMO I never found south park all that funny.
