I vote for Mencia. His show has been the most consistantly funny, most daring and most relevent for Americans right now. He does goes past the line sometimes, but he's addressing America as it is right now which nearly no one else on TV is doing.
Chappelle had his moments. I thought things like the Tupac From Beyond the Grave skit and the spoof on R Kelly's "golden showers" scandal were timely and very funny. But he played it a LOT safer than Mencia, and he's essentially doing what Chris Rock did before him, and what Eddie Murphy did before that. We Americans are well conditioned to laugh at a black man making jokes about racism, so it was popular because it was comfortable. To his credit, though, I think Chappelle tested the waters that allowed CC to give Mencia his show. I doubt if Chappelle hadn't been such a hit, CC would have never taken a chance with Mencia.
Silverman just wallows in bad taste humor. She's an one note comedian, and in my opinion, she's worthless and entirely unfunny. The only people who like her are those who think her whole ditzy, crass "teenage boy in a girl's body" act (which is her whole act) is sexy. Geezus the woman's 37, and she may be new to some CC viewers, but that's been her entire routine for the past 15 years or so in the stand-up circuit. You think anyone's gonna wanna see that when she's in her 40's?
I just have one thing to say:
Dee-dee-dee!
