DX'ed with HFA as a child. However this was in 1987 and I am certain had I been DX'ed a few years later I would have been DX'ed with AS instead.

Autistic people wouldn't be that dumb. I don't think ret*d people act like that either. I have been around ret*d kids and they were not like Ralph. I think a ret*d person would know there is a hole in their basket because the egg keeps going through it. Plus they would see the hole too. Lisa had to tell him he had a hole in his basket.

In some instances it seems like he is. Socially awkward behaviour, etc. But in other ways he definitely isn't. He's so stupid and just sad, and he doesn't shy away like your typical autistic kid.

I dunnow..I could always kinda relate to Ralph Wiggum a little bit.
I was always making off-color remarks as a kid. I don't think he is ret*d...just kinda off...I voted that he seems to have some traits.
I didn't always shy away as a kid..in fact I could be a little overbearing at times (no sense of boundaries)..umm......I remember dealing with the "normal' kids who were forced to be my friend and whatnot...sorta like Bart and Lisa with Ralph......

I mean not COMPLETELY...but a little bit....

No...I think Ralph is "special" but not autistic.
I mean...if he is ment to be, well who ever plays as Ralph doesn't do a good job of it.
Also, if he were autistic, wouldn't he be in a special education unit in the school? I also don't think that an autistic would put crayons up their noses just for the sake of it like Ralph does.

He has sone sort of diagnosis but I'm not sure whether he's autistic.

He is a cartoon character....he has no real diagnosis...he is a composit of a bunch of different traits...completely under the control of the script writers.
