Okay, so it had to happen. I decided, on a whim, to create a poll to see what is the most popular science-fiction TV show for aspies. Now, I am biased towards Doctor Who, but I have watched Star Trek, and the first episode of The X-Files.

I am also including sci-fi comedy, that is, Red Dwarf, Futurama and The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (TV version only, not movie or radio).

Cast your votes, ladies and gentlemen.

Well I would vote for them all as I would not want to go without any one of them but as my laptops are named Zen and Slave (I have yet to build Orac) I have to vote Blakes 7.

:)

I think the only ones on this list that I haven't seen are the old Doctor Who, The X-Files, Blake's Seven, most of Firefly, and Quatermass serials. The only ones on this poll I've seen and don't like too much are Voyager and Enterprise.

Obviously a poll made by a Brit. Even so, if you are going include fluff like Futurama and Red Dwarf , then a show like the new Battlestar Galactica certainly deserves to be on the list. I can't vote for it over Stargate, but it's certainly worthy.

I think that given all elements - writing, stories, cast, production fx, the scientific/technological side to make it actually sci fi - Stargate is the clear leader in this group. Star Trek would come in a close second, and then the X-Files. Of course, I'm biased, since I like actual sci fi, and while I love Douglas Adams, I just can't go with stuff that's just superficially "sci fi-ish" like Doctor Who or Red Dwarf - the Brits seems to prefer that, I guess.

I'm Australian, but I love British shows.

There, Battlestar Galactica added. Happy? :P

Every time I see the title of this thread, I think it needs its own snazzy flash music video to go with it.

X Files is too talky. It's more like a soap opera than a sci fi. Farscape is just weird and seems to have no plot. But maybe that's just me I can't figure out what's going on. One minnute they're doing one thing and the next another.
