That person is L from Death Note. He stims, has his own unique behaviors (like how he sits), isn't especially social, analyzes everything, has a unique perspective of thinking, ect. He even analyzes the likelihood of his conclusions and gives them a statistical value. Only reason I'd think he wasn't an aspie is because he might fall more into the classic autism side of the spectrum.

That is a possibility. I have read the first 5 volumes of the Death Note manga. It's mainly the idiosyncracies, and his obsessions that sell that theory to me. The only bum note is the fact that he is an excellent tennis player, but that may be just me.

I think I've seen various pics of L as the avatars for 3 or 4 WP members since Adult Swim started showing the anime 2 months ago.

I know, I used one myself for about a week after Boxing Day. But that was because I had read the manga, rather than watched the anime. The anime DVD is being released here soon though.

L is very Aspie. I love him. But Dwight from The Office also reminds me of a few of my male friends who have AS. As for female characters... can't really think of any...

Oh, I read the entire manga last year, except for the extra epilogue volume that hasn't been released in the States. Probably the best I've ever read. I just seemed like I didn't see any L's around here until November, and then suddenly he was everywhere: the greatest aspie role-model in all pop culture!

The author mentioned in the intros that he sits the same way as L when conceiving manga plots. If he's an all-around self-portrait, could that mean Tsugumi Ohba really has Asperger's himself? Someone here mentioned that the guy who created Pokemon was an aspie too.

Oh, Aurore: If you search the film and TV forum, there's at least one 16-page-long thread of speculation about which fictional characters might be on the spectrum, and I think at least 20% were female.

I don't know the Manga. Well, at least I now know what this character in the above graphic is from.

Like I said, only reason I would not accept L as an aspie, is if he was proven autistic instead. But after studying aspergers I got the distinct impression that although social skills might be lacking, which may then result in other issues, over all AS does not impede one's ability to function in society. L can clearly function and interact with others. What I like to call a confident aspie. Someone completely comfertable with who they are and how they act. Rather then adapting NT mannerisms he takes the 'deal with mine or leave me alone' approach. Where he acts how he likes and doesn't care about how others view his behavior.

In short, although L comes off as weird, excluding that he is as capable as any one else, heck he is more capable then most. Which is more apsie then autistic to me

Yep, that's definitely L. I downloaded the graphic onto my computer, and myself and my mum had a chuckle at that.
