I'm a HUGE fan of the British version of Top Gear and I'm really disappointed that they're making a US version. I wouldn't be bothered by this if starred Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May....but they have these American idiots hosting it. They have NO personality, they're dull, and.........I just wasn't entertained. They tried doing a US version a few years ago and it flopped. Now they're trying again?

I guess this message is more of a rant but......still. There's no way its going to out do the BBC version. Has anyone else seen the preview to the US version? Your thoughts?

My thoughts were that those US presenters were doing things like giving each other high fives... and that is not Top Gear.

can't believe i've missed the american version....wherever it was shown. huge fan of british version and i'm sure the american version will just suck. also love james may's toy stories.

the three top gear guys have such a feel for each other and the shows producers and directors are brilliant/like letting j. may be the one to drive the veyron to top speed.

hated to see the stig unveiled. wonder what will happen with that?

I like the British Version best.
The Aussie version was ok, it got better when they stopped trying to copy the main hosts. (They are making more of Top Gear Australia apparently)

My nephew (who is 3) really likes Top Gear. He points to JC and says "Jeremy".

I think I like the BBC version because of the charisma of the hosts. I do not like motorcars at all, and I never plan to drive (my stubborn fear of motorcars coming through, I fear), yet the charisma of this show makes me almost LoL. That is hard to do, and the only other show that has managed to achieve this feat was Mr. Bean (not the films, so much, but the BBC episodes). I am sure that the US version is far less charismatic, as are most US shows. I actually loathe how the US always attempts to remake BBC classics. I shall leave you all with a Top Gear Challenge. :D

James May is my favourite presenter.Richard Hammond I also like but Clarkson has been patronizing since 2007,all he does is make unfunny prologues when introducing the Stig and doing power slides in immensely horsepowered cars.

I love so many things British.

I think of the real hosts I like Hammond best. Clarkson is a little noisy and overbearing at times.

And yeah, they are most likely going to get a new stig now. It happened the last time around.

Top Gear (UK) makes me want to race my car around the local airport runways just to see what it can do. It'd be damn fun to be able to take a car on their track and see what you can do.

The British version of Top Gear simply can't be replicated because the personalities of the presenters are so central to the show.
