Whatever I'm doing, lifetime characters are droning on. Dull, depressing piano music drones on. Having a lifetime movie going on just gives a sort of depressed feeling to the house and my mother always has it up so loud (at least to me).

I hate it too. I tried to get into it because it was suppose to be a good show for women. Hated it. I don't know why either except some of the stuff you said. Stories that deal with rape, injustice, and arrest. It just seems like that's all they have stories based around. Also, too many re-runs.

I agree with both of you.

I agree with all three of you. I dont like Lifetime because it seems somewhat anti-male with all their rape/abuse stories. I think oxygen is the better channel for women because they arent like that at all.

With a handful of exceptions, Lifetime movies seem to deal with murder, rape and adultery. I find these movies pretty tiresome.

every time i think of Lifetime i think of that Jim Gaffigan joke: "it's television for woman, yet for some reason there's always a woman getting beaten on that network.

Tonight on Lifetime, Meredith Baxter Birney gets beaten with a rod...in a Lifetime original 'Rod'."

jokes aside, i forget what this show was, but it was on and it had Lili Taylor starring in it. In just the first 20 minutes it fit every Lifetime stereotype i could think of. The callous husband cheating on the wife, the supportive motherly black friend, the marriage counselor being a friend of the husband and of course a man so THAT'S out, you name it.

Has no one mentioned that a whopping 50% of their day time movies have the plot discription of "Mother deals with her teenage daughter's annorexia?" Oh god... I watched that channel once and never again.
