Are there any fans of Jonathan Creek here?
I identify with him a little, his awkwardness and honesty.

Yes I was fan of program, though it's been a decade since I've seen the show (when last it was aired on local PBS station). Recall he lived in a lighthouse.
Also liked the unconventional casting, of having his partner in crime-solving being a heavyset but attractive older woman. For once, it wasn't one of those "older-man-with-younger-woman" stereotypical pairings.

I agree, the unconentional casting was one of the best features of the show. I loved Maddy though, her and Jonathan were amazing characters.

All went downhill after they lost her. That new charachter they brought in was clearly just trying to be Maddy.
Great show though. My favourite was that one about the room in the cliff where the guy buried himself behind the wall.

Classic.

Oh and it was a windmill I think, not a lighthouse.

Ah, Jack in the Box! I LOVE that episode :D
My favourite episode is Mother Redcap at the moment.
It was a windmill that Jonathan lived in, wish I lived there 8)

Okay, my mistake-like I said, it's been quite some time since the show's been on where I live. When it was regularly airing, I'd watch it every week & get quite upset if for some reason it wasn't on.
Can't recall the second partner, after the first woman left-not sure if I saw that far into series or not. But that's usually how things go, where the replacement person is insufficient in comparison.
There are plenty of British/UK series that I adore(d). Ones where I'd think to myself:
"If the U.S. made this show they'd totally screw it up & make it all cheesy, mainstream, normal. I'm so glad they haven't gotten their hands on this great show-or at least, I'm so lucky to be able to see the UK version because that appeals to my preferences & 'sensibility'."

I used to love Johnathon Creek too. I watched it with my little brother. One of my favourites was the one with the floor by the window that was electrified and caroline quentin almost got killed (or was it johnathon creek?).

It did indeed get rubbish when they brought in ade edmonson (sp?) and that magic guy. I still watched it though and I remember the last episode was on Valentines Day and then they stopped it mid-series because the viewing figures were poor.

I stopped watching when Caroline left. The new woman was rubbish. My favourite one was the painting that went missing in that secure room, and it turned out that someone had hidden it in a hollowed out space in the door. Genius!

Yes! 8)

Most definitely.

Was my favourite whodunnit for so long. I just love the acerbic attitude of his.
