Shy, improvised eye contact, unsure about how to articulate delicate open questions, bordering on being perceived as rude

A lot of people find aspie-ish behaviour adorable on camera (Edward Scissorhands, Forrest Gump, Mozart and the whale and so on). Unfortunately, most people don't think it's that adorable off stage.

I don't know. he looks really nervous, for some reason, but it isn't enough to dx someone as Aspie.

I don't think he's on the specrtum.

My husband and I are not convinced that he's on the spectrum. He is interestingly weird, but that doesn't make him an Aspie (and trust me, I think EVERYONE is aspie -- just ask my kids!)

What stands out for me is that why is he so nervous, because I would imagine 'the big breakfast' environment is the most laid back on set live TV performance.

maybe he is as shy as a child early mornings!?

Wow, what a great guy. I just think that's his personality. I don't think the video says anything about Asperger's - I just see a really gentle, introvert, intelligent, unique and maybe slightly uncomfortable-with-all-the-personal-questions guy being very, very authentic. And that is just something to aspire to.

I saw him stimming and he had inappropriate eye contact. He looked away a lot and the lady sitting next to him had her eyes on the interviewer the whole time. Even I can't keep my eyes on someone the whole time. I do the same behavior Johnny does.
His voice also sounded too soft.

Yes

Edward Scissorhands is so close to home, surely for many here who have seen the film know the character. I can't help but see that Edward is Johnny laid bare. I mean the character is so mechanical but fluent but it's not forced mechanical acting...lol, i'm going off into deep body language obsessional talk now...lol

OMG, you're right. I see the same things - especially noted how when asked about the papparazzi, he gave such a literal reply: 'Yes. They're like mosquitos.' I was sort of 'on the fence' about his rumored Aspie-ness, but after seeing this rather candid interview, I'm now convinced.

I know, but a lot of people find Donald Morton and Forrest Gump "adorable" because of their aspie-behaviour.

On topic: It's hard to tell the difference between a socialy ankward NT and an aspie unless you know them very well.

Or a nervous NT full of mannerisms from an aspie for that matter.
