I watch the series and the movies can its a classic with me. A very good story line that follow the characters a lot than the Gundams themselves.

Isn't Zeta Gundam very "Dark"? As in worse than Gundam Seed Destiny?

No thats Victory Gundam with its kill them all among its cast of characters. Zeta was very popular when it aired in 1985-1986. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Suit_Zeta_Gundam
Ideas from Zeta were used in SEED Destiny but it is not Dark at all. The high causality rate among the sides and main cast of characters is there but I don't qualified it as Dark at all.

I would describe as Zeta as being more tragic than dark. Still one of the best Gundam shows though. Can't beat a mech that runs on dead people. :p

Seed Destiny tried to be like Zeta... but failed.

I agree. Victory Gundam would be the same as well though it could be dark due Sunrise merged with Bandai at the time.

It was dark mainly due to a depressed Tomino at the time it was being created.

Zeta is actually better SEED Destiny because Destiny used ideas from Zeta but didn't work well. Zeat Gundam is the highest watched series of the Gundam series when it aired.
