I read a book by Nick Balthazar, “Niets was alles wat hij zei” (“Nothing was all he said”). It is a flemish book (it is written in the belgian dialect of Dutch); quite short. But a nice story with a twist at the end.

This film seems based on that book.

I put it on my watchlist, since I am fluent in Dutch anyway :-)

np , he thanks to the one who linked the other topic

i dont see orcs in the streets or see warcraft like images when i walk in the street (because i play wow and not archlord like the asp dude from the movie), i got bullied too the same way like him in the class with the 'shooting paperprops' but most i was laughed at when i was flapping
i start to game only later after my school peroid sofar the comparison with him stopped there but i play loads on pc , have a ps2 and a xbox (most used it for dvd player). The first computer i had was a cpc 1624 schneider with an awfull os (/cpm) when i turned 16 (it was a choice between a computer or a ring by that time the schneider was the only homecomputer there existed - 1985)
my first pc was in 1992ish (my current system is newer and is from a few years back)

i did speak up when i was bullied i wasnt a person who said nothing. When i spoke up in class i was laught about etc, kicked against the chair, excluded from games etc

that gave me more troubles because the bullies went harder on me because i spoke about them.He went earlier then me to see a specialist so it is different

so his story is like mine but he got the worse because his parents broke up and mine didnt (my father died but never accepted his son had a problem for him i was lazy)

That looks like a really interesting film.
Of course, the US seldom seems to get any good films.
Maybe I can view the UK release.

my husband(not AS) noticed that the film often focusses on details, like hair, or shoes, fingers, hands, the floor etc
i had not noticed this explicitly but thought the film had a very 'natural feel'
not only on the level of the photography, but the incidents, the reactions of the people, ben's thoughts, etc

i'd like to know more about the movie, is the director so familiar with the asperger's syndrom, or someone with whom he worked?
and the main character?

(i read that the mother has an autistic son in real life)

the director got the idea from something that happend in real life about a kid who was bullied such that he threw himself off the castlewalls of the castle in Gent

the collector item dvd is out now with comments of the director and lots of bonusses (also the game they used for the movie)

with morgen and the dvd there was a 5 euro discount coupon and you could swap the dvd and the coupon for the collector dvd in any shop that was listed on the coupon
