Well, It's no spoiler that there's an Episode in the new series (4) called

The Doctor's Daughter

which contains a female from the same DNA as the Doctor, therefore effectively his daughter.

Curiously... The actress in question is actually, really, the Doctor's Daughter... The fifth Doctor's daughter to be precise.

Weird..? It gets worse...

Now, it seems that David Tennant (the tenth doctor) is dating her. It's not quite incest but she's the doctor's daughter in two worlds at least. I wonder if Peter Davison approves?

Hahahahahahaha!

I'm sure that Peter Davison would approve. They got on fine while filming Time Crash.

David tennant is dating the girl from "the girl in the fireplace" episode, who also played Erica in underworld.

No he's not, he broke up with her.

And I'm sure Peter Davidson is fine with it, they got on well while filming and I'm sure the british version of hollywood is small enough its not like it's some huge secret.

They broke up some time ago. Sophia Myles, you mean.

Gack.

*Has a mild aneurysm.*

The fourth Doctor was the one with the scarf!! !! The fifth Doctor had the cricketing gear and the celery on the lapel!! !

*Quatermass degenerates into demented raving, peppered liberally with expletives.*

Maybe it's because I've only ever seen the "tenth doctor" episodes, or maybe because I'm just an ignorant american, but what's the big deal with the multiple doctors?

It just seems like it's different actors playing the same role - can someone enlighten me? :)

Okay. You know how it is always a problem getting new leads to play roles in TV or movies? Well, three years after Doctor Who started, they decided to replace William Hartnell. It had already been established that the Doctor was an alien. So the creative team behind the show introduced a concept called 'regeneration'.

It's a pity that the Doctor can't regenerate into one of his previous incarnations, I liked the Ninth Doctor just as well as the Tenth, and if David Tennent (Tenth Doctor) won't come back to do another season, I'd love to see Christopher Eccleston (Ninth Doctor) back. And Rose. And Jackie.

Yes. You see, by writing into the plot as something the main character's race does as a part of life, they avoided jumping the shark.

I actually think David Tennant is the best Doctor since Tom Baker (mostly because Tennant has been a diehard fan of the show since he was a kid and knows exactly what to do). I have been familiar with the series since I was a kid (I watched it on PBS) mostly because my father is a fan (he hasn't watched the revival because it conflicts with his work schedule). Also, good for Tennant for snagging Georgia Moffat. She's quite a catch.

Oh and paklet? The Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) was the one with the scarf. Wikipedia has alot about the differences.

Well, they could do an episode where they bring past Doctors and companions together into the same place and time, like they did in classic Doctor Who episodes like "The Five Doctors." It has been shown that the Doctor has a way of "running into himself" from time to time. :)

Yeah and without the Timelords to prevent transgression, this thing is probably going to be more common.

Have you noticed that, in all three stories this happens in the Classic series, the Time Lords are involved in bringing previous incarnations together?

*In The Three Doctors, the Time Lords deliberately bring the Second Doctor into his future self's timestream, and tries to bring the First Doctor there, though with limited success.

*The Five Doctors has a Time Lord traitor kidnapping the five Doctors and putting them into the Death Zone on Gallifrey.

*The Time Lords sent the Second Doctor to Space Station J7 in order to stop Dastari and his colleagues' time experiments in The Two Doctors, and maybe they helped send the Sixth Doctor after him.
