IMO I think it was overrated. It was a little too long, but don't get me wrong I loved the Joker in this movie! :D I think he was more evil than Stewie was in the 1st season of Family Guy. My other complaint is that they could of saved Two-Face for the 3rd movie instead of killing him off in the end.

The Joker was brilliant and Heath's performance can't be underrated.

Batman is boring...

The rest of the movie was just a bunch of montages of action sequences and talky bits... It didn't do anything for me. Bring back Adam West!

I thought the soundtrack generated a lot of the excitement.

the Joker was good.

I'm rather sick of hearing about how this Batman doesn't kill like Burton's version, then they go out and have him kill Ghul in the first movie and then Two-Face in this one.

Like Batman can't disarm a guy who isn't paying attention to him.

I thought it was really good, a massive improvement on Batman Begins. Heath Ledger definitely steals the film and its a shame the Joker can't return now in future installments (it would take a monumental effort by another actor to top Ledger's performance). Who would you want to see as the Penguin in Part 3? I'd go for either Philip Seymour Hoffman or Jack Black

Ras Al Ghul doesn't die beacuse of the Lazarus pits. Just becuase he wasn't in the next film doesn't mean he's dead.

And I don't think Two-Face was dead either, I'm sure I read somewhere that he was going to be in the third film with Ledger too.

I'm pretty sure where you read that is 100% wrong given Ledger's current residence.

Ghul is probably dead in that it's doubtful we'll ever see him again. But even if he's not. Batman constructed an elaborate plan to kill him and then took the time to taunt him before leaving him to his doom.

Well, I loved the film.
It's definitely the BEST super hero movie ever made.

However...number 1 on IMDB????
No way.

I freakin' LOVED the movie, but only because I have always had this weird thing for the Joker. Otherwise...yeah, probably a bit overrated.

You misread the emphasis in my sentence. I read somewhere that he was going to be in the third film, before Ledger died. And they'd wrapped filming the second one before Ledger passed on.

Well he could always come back. This is a movie based on a Comic Book, for all we know Dent survived somehow.

However, i'm pretty interested that David Tennant has shown interest in playing The Riddler, boy that'd be awesome, wouldn't it? He'd be going in the great "Doctor Who" tradition of having most of your non-Doctor Who work being you portraying villains.

BEST. MAGIC. TRICK. EVER.

*comic book guy picture I can't find*

I really liked it, I think I'd have to watch it again to see if it hadany staying power. I think I was more wowed by the effects and Ledgers performance more than the story or anything else. So I will endeavour to see it again.

I thought Batman Begins was better. I like the actor that played Batman in Dark Knight, but the script sucked. It all rested on alot of explosions and sadomasochistic voyerism. Wall-E was a much better movie.

Personally, I liked the movie though I don't think its the masterpiece that everyone is making it out to be.

Batman Begins was a movie that caught me by surprise. Call me crazy, but I found it to be a uplifting movie. I know it sounds crazy, but what moved me about it was that this man (Bruce Wayne) was a man who was tempted to do the wrong thing after his parents were murdered, but didn't. He used his anger to his advantage, but he didn't allow it to turn him into a monster. I was hoping that the sequal would focus on Batman's ideals being put to the test, to see him being drove into a rage by the Joker, but in the end still holding true to his ideals.

Chris Nolan an co. didn't get into that. Yeah, its kind of brought up in the end, but it felt like an afterthought, like they just said about Batman,"He is incouruptable. Just thought I'd tell you that." Its as if the writers lost interest in Batman as a character and decided to focus on everyone else instead. I hate to call out on some of the supporters on this, but what annoys me is that the die hard fans didn't see this as a problem. I remember before Batman Begins came out that the complaint about Tim Burton's Batman was that it didn't focus on Batman; that the villians were the main focus when it should've been Batman. After The Dark Knight came out, I've been reading things like, "I don't mind it focusing on the other characters." and "It should have been less Batman and more Joker!". So why is reducing Batman to a side character bad when Burton did it, but not when Nolan does it? I didn't mind that aspect so much in the Tim Burton Batman, because he was portrayed as a mysterious character. You just knew his origin and thats it. He was meant to be this dark force of justice. In the Nolan films, they went to great lengths to explore Batman's psychology, how he gets his gadgets, what drives him, etc. So its problematic for me because it brings up the question of whats the point of developing this character if you're just going to reduce him to being a co-star in his own sequel?

I thought everything else was very good, especially the performances by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart. I just found it to be a wasted opportunity to see Batman's dedication to his ideals get pushed to the test. If it focused more on Batman and less on the other characters, I would've liked it a lot better.

Not to mention the fact that is is an absolutely brilliant role for Tennant.

Seriously, though. I Wikipedia'd all of the batman stuff after I saw Dark Knight. Perfect role for Tennant. And he goes straight in the end, provided they don't ignore the comics.
