OH. MY. GOSH. 8O

I thought I was the only person who still remembers this show! It was one of my absolute favorites! I remember certain things about the period of time I was obsessed with that show, such as:

- Wanting to cry during the episode where DK was banished to the mountains. I remember my dad laughing and asking what the matter was, because I was huddled up behind the recliner while DK was singing about being an outcast ("Hero to Zero", or something like that).

- I drew a picture of the tree house where DK lived to help calm me down during a panic attack I was having in school.

- Once, when I heard Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" on the radio, I daydreamed about the relationship between DK and Candy Kong.

- During yet another school-related panic attack, I tried to imagine what the laid-back, carefree Funky Kong would have told me if he were there with me.

Yeah I know, pretty dorky. But I was an eight year old with no friends, so... Yeah.

Although I must say, I'd probably get re-obsessed with it all over again if only I could find some way to rewatch the episodes... Damn the company for not putting out DVDs in the US...! :x

That's actually kind of funny... it's cool how television shows can serve as a comfort or arouse certain strong emotions.

I never saw this show; I remember that it aired when I was in secondary school (the Netherlands usually get new TV shows years after the country of origin first airs it) and I wanted to see it because I'm a big fan of the DK Country games.

It is funny! I couldn't stop laughing last night when I thought of how passionate I was about DKC. XD

I'm a big fan of the DKC games as well. I have the song that plays during the bramble levels in DKC2 on my iPod (it's called "Stickerbrush Symphony"). ^_^ Makes me wish I had my old SNES and games...

I have the movie that was made on video; I love the cartoon series and I wish that it was made on DVD.
