In britain the new series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire started up again this time with new rules

First of all we still have Chris Tarrant presenting it. But the changes

You now have 12 questions instead of 15
Question 1 is for 500
Question 2 is for 1000
Question 3 is for 2000
Question 4 is for 5000
Question 5 is for 10.000
Question 6 is for 20.000
Question 7 is for 50.000
Question 8 is for 75.000
Question 9 is for 150.000
Question 10 is for 250.000
Question 11 is for 500.000
Question 12 is for 1million

Soon those rules I'm sure go around the world.
And the music has been remixed and inccidental music dueing the rounds have been changed

The American version at the start of the 2009-10 season changed the monetary value of questions. Like the UK version, the first question is now worth $500, not $100 as was previously. But there are still a total of 15 questions to win the million so that piece hasn't changed. But question number five (and the first safe haven) is worth $5,000 now instead of $1,000 as it was in seasons prior.
