some crtic didnt like it because of the radish spirit....that it was there and never was explained. Well thatw as abath house so you would have charters coming and going all the time without giving you their life stories..kinda like real life. SOme starnge charcter may pass you buy, and you never hear or see of them again, nor get an explanation.

Like most stories by the Japaneses it followed this premise (in my opinion) Good begging, mind blowing middle, melodramatic/ disappointing ending. At least it was good while it lasted. :)

Another great Miyazaki film, though it had an uncharacteristic "Oh crap! We only have five minutes left to finish everything up!" feel to the end.

I found it a bit odd, but I watched it before I have watched a lot of anime, so I found some of the harsh stuff a bit off putting, but I think that after watching more anime and seeing how they almost always have a kind of sad ending I might enjoy it even more. But it was a good movie and I would say some of the mystery and not knowing everything is ine of the things I love about anime. Doesnt anyone else kind of feel a bit empty when it feels like there is nothing left to mystery and the story is over.

Exactly, It just ends with no (satisfying) conclusion.

Ah, too true alas. What is life without mystery, no more to learn?

Well, Alice in Wonderland just sort of ended, too. And The Wizard of Oz. It's always a wrench when they leave the interesting place and go back to the dull real world.
