I saw it... it was very good but it's not my favourite of 2008. (that goes to Hellboy II) but it comes a close second...

Here's my list of my favourite Films of 2008.

knowing that the writer of the screenplay is the
same person who wrote the screenplay for
forrest gump, i couldn't help but note the similarities,
e.g. one true love in the character of daisy, the fantasy with
boats tug boat- in forrest that shrimp boat, and the south in this
case nola, and also with the main character acting more of
as an observant, benjamin him being odd people didn't attack him
they just let him be which i find very unrealistic, plus being in the war,
but
the fact he walked away from being a father, that made me
react negatively towards his character, whatever excuse he may have
i didn't appreciate his reasons whatsoever.
although some parts of the movie made me reflect on my own situation which
most good films do. i wouldn't see it over and over again like with forrest though.
about brad's acting, it was typical brad, nothing spectacular.

I really liked TCCoBB. The storyline was excellent as well as the acting. My mom thought it was too slow, but don't take her opinion. All she watches are violent movies these days anyway. But like I said, I really enjoyed it. And who could go wrong with Brad Pitt?

I want to see it. On a big F Scott Fitzgerald kick as of late. Plus the director worked with George Lucas and I liked Seven and such for random things.

Spoilers ahoy!

I was really disappointed. After the great trailers and reviews I was expecting to love it, but I found myself...bored...the whole time. It was incredibly monotonous: the only time the tone changed at all was the brief battle scene. The story took WAY too long to go anywhere and I felt like at least 45 minutes could have gone. I didn't like the Hurricane Katrina scenes that framed the story. I didn't buy the CG look of old/young BB at the beginning of the movie and at the end I was disappointed when BB just became a baby again. I thought he'd be a BIG baby--like with a baby's skin and proportions but as large as an old man. That woulda been cool. I did like the lightning guy though--he was hilarious.
