Any MySpace users that go on that site, here are the list of the ten most memorable cartoons for decade of greed.

Not a good list. :( Well, some of them are epic, but I certainly wouldn't have included 'Heathcliff' on my own list, that's for sure. And dude, I was THERE, so I remember.

My own list would look something like:

1) GI Joe (god, I freaking loved this show)
2) Transformers
3) The Real Ghostbusters
4) Dangermouse
5) Robotech
6) Mysterious Cities of Gold
7) Smurfs
8) Schoolhouse Rock
9) Super Friends
10) Duck Tales

More obscure favorites of mine: Beverly Hills Teens, and The Littles. 8)

Should've made it a 50 since there are many 80s toons that were good, even the cheap arsed ones.

I don't agree with it either. Leaving out Carebears is a horrible mistake. And they have He-Man as #1 and no She-Ra? And Ducktales?

Here the honorable mentions on that famous (or infamous) list:

All I remember of the 80s cartoons is enough to make me certain that it truly was the Dark Ages of animation. Weak overly commercial premises, PC terrorism, and the most inferior artistry to be put over en masse upon unsuspecting children. Even the once skilfully drawn Disney films were replaced by things Walt wouldn't have accepted as a storyboard. I still wish they would go back and fix The Little Mermaid, and that was the best one in years. (To those who, like my kids, don't see the trouble, she keeps changing faces, sometimes right in front of your eyes as her lips slide around her face, and that hair is just embarrassing. Apparently they had hairspray back then)

I did like a couple of cartoons in spite of these issues... Alf (animated), and The Real Ghostbusters, but those had humor.

Agreed on all 3 counts.

Two words: Captain Planet.

I also agree that Carebears definitely should have been there, and near the top of the list to boot. Good times.

Captain Planet was actually 90s, though.
