:P :P My trees!! I gots the pine cones and rotten crabby apples to prove it. Wants I should send you some??

Oh my, then we'll have to take up a collection to pay the bail money to get you out of the slammer when they bust you for petty theft of those nice people's crabby apples and pine cones.

You have to watch her, Lucy1. She comes across as a nice, mild-mannered mom, but has these spells....

I feel bad I haven't really been here at all for the past two weeks at least. Hopefully I'll get out of this funk soon.

I hope everyone is doing alright. I'll try and get myself to check back in soon.

We'll be thinking about you until then, mousie. :) I'll try to send happy, peaceful thoughts your way!

(Didn't quite make it to bed. I am full of energy for some strange reason and just realized that Monday is the stat holiday in lieu of Rememberance Day so I get 3 glorious day off!! :D )

Wondered where you'd gotten to, rathermousie. Look forward to hearing from you at greater length when you're ready for it.

hi lucy1! welcome. watch out for mom, she has delusions that she has trees in her yard.

and be really careful about postie, chuck and lau if they even look like they're thinking of mentioning duct tape.

trust me on that one, tho mom can really tell you from first-hand experience.

Lau's a brilliant gentleman. Those other 2, though........ don't let them fool you for a minute. Or Gromit, either for that matter!

Woah, yeah, I forgot to warn her about Gromit. Oh my. Oh my.

I was diagnosed...september 2006 as asperger.
subsequently, more of a shock to me, dislexia and dyspraxia....fuuuuck

anyway......i don't like being round other people who are autistic, or kinda 'wrong'

is this just me?

am i not coming to terms with my own autism/aspergers ?

this is a genuine question, and not a knock at autism

is this ssomething that everyone, newly diagnosed, goes through?

I reply with a dignified silence, with an implied, yet strangely clear reference to my previous comprehensive rebuttals of similar scurrilous accusations. Let my record speak for itself. And the court records, of course.

lucy1, a word of advice. In Blessedmom's presence, don't talk about her rock. Whatever else you do, don't mention the rock!

Oh, bugger!

Mom knits stuff, you see, up to and including siege engines.

But if she drops even one stitch, accuracy suffers. Luckily for us, her kids provide plenty of distraction. Still, it means playing the odds. Be nice to Mom!

Hey Mescalero, I think its okay to hang out with this bunch of aspies. I'm NT with major depression, and I would never hang out with that bunch in a support group. Is that something like what you feel when you are mixing with aspies?

Hi Lucy! I'm from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, and I've met Sleepy Dragon and Quatermass. Have you by any chance written a newspaper article on being aspergers? My son in law sent me an article by a NZ woman written earlier this year.

Hi Rather Mousie. THere are a few of our members who lurk and only talk when they feel like it.

Difficult to say. If you look at the posts from people introducing themselves to WP, they are often glad to find there are others who differ from the mainstream in broadly the same way. But that is a biased sample. The ones who don't want any contact with others on the autistic spectrum would be unlikely to join and post. They might be in the majority. Here, you see mostly those who do like some company, and I have no idea what proportion of the ASD population that is.

Mescalero is the name of one of the Apache tribes. I've seen a short mention that it comes from a reference to mezqal liquor. I don't even know whether the name Mescalero came from the colonists or from the people themselves.

Is that Lord Kitchener in your avatar? I just saw a picture of him, and there is a lot of resemblance, unless I am misled by a coincidence of mustache and uniform.
