Welcome to WP! No matter what diagnosis you do or do not get, I hope you stay; a polite interest in the topic is quite enough to belong here.

One place you might go to get a little more information is the Internet. After reading about Autism on the Internet I concluded that it sounded like me (my bride also thought it sounded like me). I didn't find our amateur opinions compelling so the next step for me was: AQ. When it flagged me as likely being Autistic I considered that convincing enough that I then sought a formal Adult Autism Assessment (which was kind of fun!).
