Hello everyone!
I am new here. My name is Maverick and I live in the US, and I am starting college in the fall with the hopes on one day attending law school and becoming an immigration attorney. I have a service dog named Maeve who I love dearly and she will be coming to school with me. I like to read comics and horror/sci-fi/mystery books, go on runs or walks in nature, work out, and collect rubber ducks. I would really like to get to know other autistic people because unfortunately I know no other autistic person in my life, and it feels really isolating. So please reach out and reply, and if you ask I'll even assign you one of my 85 rubber ducks

Also my favorite comic book character is Daredevil. Yes, the one that's a lawyer and also disabled. It's a bit on the nose but my dad let me read my first DD comic at 11 and I fell in love, so

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

In my experience the autistic brain can make a good lawyer. My grandfather isn't autistic but his brain is similar in many ways and he says that's really helped him in his career. (He also can't do almost anything else, but that's a separate issue)

I often act as my own lawyer when I argue with my parents and I almost always win because they get sick of arguing :lol:

Welcome to WP. I hope you like it here...and in college. (The key for me was to remember it was transient. I had to work hard to get through it but I knew there was an end to it coming.)

WP is a good place to interact with other Autistic people but I suspect you already might know at least one Autistic person but not realize they are Autistic. They might not even know they are Autistic! I was 64 before I first suspected I was Autistic...though I had a very strong suspicion that I was different.

ps: I like DD as well but have you read any Neil Gaiman comics? they hit the mark for me as well.
