Hello,

I am glad I found this forum. It’s like I found an alien home base here on earth. I’m reading through so many posts and am both laughing and crying a bit relating so closely.

I was adopted at birth and it wasn’t a traditional adoption. More of a welfare / situational guardianship. My step mom was narcissistic and divorced when I was 11 because of her way of being.

While in this temporary holding cell, as far as I remembered the oldest QUESTion I had as a kid was ‘why did they do that?’. First this started with my family - I thought it was just because I was foreign to the family biologically - and a little 3rd party part in the system might not understand the OEM effectively. But then it happened at school, too. I was a human scientist and my first special interest was other people’s behavior. I have a high verbal intelligence and can speak very well if I’m in flow - so it was a cakewalk making these people laugh. I mean I made people bend over crying and it was like I was tickling a dogs belly making it go crazy. I got ‘you’re funny’ for all 26 classmates in my 2nd grade class for Valentine’s Day cards, A perfect 100% score *bow*.

As I got older I realized I was pretty different, but had a social group so I was pretty high functioning - due to my delayed development and maturity I had to eventually leave them behind as they were going down dark paths that I naively didn’t notice initially - and have very few real friends now.

Faceblind, timeblind, taking things literally, special interest overload, relating everything to special interest if I can, GATES program in elementary school? - the list goes on. I will never afford to be diagnosed and have been incorrectly diagnosed in the ‘15 minute analysis’ by pretty incompetent doctors - so I’m just glad to be here.

Hi

Welcome to Wrong Planet , Yes I truley get what you wrote about underqualified Doctors. After 50-60 years of dealing various health issues and life threatening vehicular wrecks going all the way back to my teens. Am literally the most qualified person ,I know, to discuss the health conditions I have dealt with, I feel . 15 min interveiws , honestly, I cant imagine thats enough time to even get a medical history. or charting a med history. Its hard to give credibilty to anyone after a 15 min interveiw .

Welcome!

There are occasionally useful tips on this forum to read that may make your life easier.

I bought high fidelity earplugs for going to the movies. They are much more enjoyable when they aren't too loud!

It may be best that you weren't diagnosed so you don't end up in a government database being used for nefarious purposes.

If you need an special help at work just ask for what you need.
For example, it is common for workers to get special chairs as they sit around all day.

There is a concept known as don't ask, don't tell.

Your employer may not want to know the details.

That is also true of some relationships. There may be some aspects of your life your partner will acknowledge exists, but doesn't want to know the details. A good example is cross dressing. Some partners are uncomfortable about seeing their partner dressed.

A database? Now you’ve got me interested. When authorities see me or my car they always turn away or avoid me, which didn’t happen in my youth. Like I was ‘found out’ and listed

Many years ago, my younger brother learned how to drive. He purchased an Earl Scheib painted used car that had been in an accident. It was smashed in both the front side and back side. It had been in a bad wreck. But he bought it cheap and it could still drive. He went and had the car painted taxi cab yellow and drove it. Everyone would stay three car lengths away from his car because they thought he was an accident waiting to happen. He was a good driver but his car drove people far, far away.

The human brain has two sides. They are very different people inside us. At around age 12 or 13, humans complete its development process. They change from a child to an adult. This may be why you fit in very well as a child but seem out of place as an adult. If someone looked very deeply inside you, they may find the brain of a young child, a right sided brain rather then a normal dominant left sided brain.
