Hi All,
I'm a 34y old homosexual male and was diagnosed last week Wednesday for being an Aspie. My mother tongue isn't so my apologies for incorrect English I might use. (I also like communicating in Italian and German)
My special interests are definitely classical music, especially piano music since I'm a perfomer and teacher myself and other topics like literature, philosophy, plants and of course internetting.. 
Since I heard of Aspergers for the first time about 5 months have passed and now, with the official diagnosis, I feel like finally being able to understand many of the issues I always had and start working on my acceptance of the diagnosis. That's not always easy..
Well, any questions are welcome and I'm looking forward to reading of other people's stories here.

Strangely I don't have big issues with playing in public although I'm not very eager to do so either..For a while I thought Asperger couldn't be the case with me until I read Attwood's "guide" where he describes an Aspie-musician who's able to perform even in front of huge audiences because he "feels protected by his music". That's what happens to me usually.
I can't talk at all in front of people though, only the piano works..
And which kind of music do you prefer?

Well I say that I have issues, but it's not always been the case. I was depressed and lost all confidence and have been hesitant to show what I can do in any medium since.
I've never been too fussed with music genres - My interest shifts from one to another, I was into the music of the 40s over summer
