Hello - I want this to be short so people will read it, but I predict it will be too long. Just skip around. I'm pretty sure I have Asperger's and I want to ask my doctor. My son is diagnosed PDD-NOS, ADHD and Sensory Integration Dysfunction, and I'm diagnosed ADHD and SID, as well as having social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder, plus depression...blah blah blah...so many hats. Anyway, I recognize myself in a lot of the Asperger "symptoms". Don't know how reliable the online tests are but the results point to "yes, add this one to your list of things wrong with you". Not that I think it's a bad thing now that I am an adult, but as a child...not a good thing. I was socially awkward - I always had only 1 friend at a time. I was popular with boys but not girls, I never got along with girls (not with most women, now, either - I don't like the girly stuff and I hate the mall - I want to have girlfriends but women just don't seem to like me). Ugh this is supposed to be short. Ok super short now... Childhood: Unsure how to act, eye contact very hard, still is difficult - I used to watch mouths. I would adopt other’s behaviors/likes and dislikes/opinions in order to fit in. Stoic expression and did not cry much as a baby. Hate tags, turtlenecks, have to wear cotton. I'm a picky eater... I was terrible at sports – would have anxiety attacks about P.E. Daydreamer. Never learned to swim properly – hated not feeling the bottom in the deep end, did not like my face under water and was afraid to dive. Always felt different, weird. Lots of little phobias. I'm obsessed with researching things on the internet. I'm an artist, I love music, I collect fossils. I love computers and video games, puzzles, quizzes and learning new things. I hate parties and crowds. I don't connect with most people. Whew...I'm tired. I look forward to getting to know some of you and maybe figure out what's going on with me. Thanks for reading. Sorry so long
