Totally random topic change, folks. I was in the Health Food store, and put a bottle of Oil of Oregano capsules in my shopping cart, that cost about 10 dollars. When I got through checkout, I placed my bag in the cart, rolled it outside, and was about to take my bag and leave, when I noticed that the jar had fallen into the bottom of the cart. And had not been paid for. Without even thinking about it, I re-entered the store, got in line, explained what had happened, and got a funny look from the cashier. And from about two other customers. She finally said, "Not many people would have come back in." Somehow, I felt that I had been wrong to take the action that I had. Now, I know that I wasn't wrong, but the reactions that I got from others made me feel that I had been stupid. What what you have done?
I'd have taken it back and paid them what it was worth. It's stealing, otherwise.
That's what I thought. It isn't something I do. But I got the impression from other people that there was some kind of choice in the matter. Every time somebody steals, the prices eventually go up. Since I shop at that particular store a lot, I wouldn't want to contribute to that. And it's just one of those things where I feel like I'm being weird, when I am being my everyday self. Oddly, the cashier said that if it were her, and the item was a little cheaper, she would not have bothered to come back and pay for it!
