Chuck could do children's stories about ecosystems falling from the sky, while I do stories about frying food on the sidewalk.

An old story I once read said that the devil visited Arizona. He created big, prickly cacti to scratch people. Then he starts making the sun hotter and hotter, to make people sweat.

Then he took away the rain, so there was no relief.

Then he ran home because it was colder there.

Hi Reika. My granddaughter went to Prescott College, graduated about two years ago. She was happy there. Son-in-law's brother studying game design at Collins in Tempe.

Morningafter - I liked your story about Arizona being too hot for the devil.

Good morning, all!

To those who are still getting winter, here's a touch of spring. Enjoy! :

It was 53F here yesterday and is expected to stay around that until next week. It's beautiful.

(The desert has it's own beauty, morning_after. I liked your story, too. :) )

Thrift store worker returns $30,000
Southern California woman found pile of cash in donated clothing

POMONA, Calif. - A thrift store worker in Southern California says she didn’t think twice about returning $30,000 she found in donated clothing.

Barbarita Nunez was sorting clothes on Tuesday at the Veterans Thrift Store when she found a small box. Inside was an envelope of cash. Nunez said at first she thought the money was fake. But just in case, she gave it to her supervisor.

The money turned out to belong to a woman who had recently died. It was returned to her family, who gave Nunez a cash reward.

At least they're honest.

I think a lot of bosses would have probably said "That's mine. I, uh, donated that... that... coat... yesterday... and I've been looking for this."

Thrift, not theft topic

It is heartwarming, Hatrzofspace. I hope the reward was wallet warming. I know those workers do not get paid high wages. Had someone bought the garment it is not certain that the money would have been returned, though, if it was me, or you, we would because it is the right thing to do. :D

Um, actually that money was mine. I was visiting that area and didn't want to carry all my clothes back to Philly so I dumped a bunch of them off at the thrift store and, inadvertently, my little box with the 30 grand in it.

This is obviously a scam devised by the woman and the bogus woman's family.

Yeah I was in blustery Barrie last night for the Ontario Winter Games. It was an awesome storm. Wicked driving conditions! Definitely, could of used a SNOrkel to find my car in the morning.
