Why are you here? Suspected I'm an aspie, did some internet research, found this place and it felt like home

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): no Dx

Favorite subjects: math, science, sociology, art

Year/Grade: I have a BS in Engineering: Product Design, and an MArch (Master of Architecture)

Favorite music: rock, pop

Books: Catch-22 is my all-time fave and I have too many sci-fi/fantasy faves to write here

TV shows/Movies: "reality" shows / I love all kinds of movies

Instruments: Trumpet, flugelhorn, mellophone, flute

Do you like sports? For myself, no. I like watching tennis and I'm a lifelong Yankees fan.

Family: I'm close to my mom, dad and sister (she's younger). I also have 2 cats.

Clothing: my taste is ever-changing. I like looking nice, but am always soon dying to get home and into a t-shirt and sweats

Why here : My shrink thinks I may have AS always thought I was an alien want to find out more about this disorder.
When were you diagonesed: Only diagonsed a few days ago as may having AS have most of the symptoms but not sure so I'm confused.
Favorite subjects : Math ,History
Grade : Bad hated school

TV : Sci-fi Battlestar Galactica, Nature,really hate soaps

Favorite music: Varies. One week its Nickleback, the next its Musicals, the next its Rascall Flatts.

Job:Student. Work At a summer camp for Disabled children. Was where i first found out about Autism. I also work respite weekends at the camp during spring and fall. Its a blast

Plans for the future? School Psyc or Special Education. Kinda torn b/w them atm.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder):
i have never been diagnosed with AS or anything related to autism. but in fact, i am perfectly normal. see, i can't have ADD because that is the boy in 1st grade that had to take a pill at 12:30 every day, and i never took a pill or got in trouble so i am not him, but also i can't have been autistic, because the autistic kids i read in books or saw on t.v. were all ret*d or ret*d but could play piano very well, but don't say ret*d because we are calling them idiot-savants today, but also you shouldn't rock so much to calm down because you are a smart girl and in gifted class and could read at 1, so don't rock and be silly because that is making fun of ret*d people and PAY ATTENTION and quit being stupid and now is later and maybe 18 too, so it is just depression, but then one of the doctors say i am borderline, but another says no, but then 2 say bipolar, but 10 more say no, and may be this or that and then no, no, no because that medication does not work either... so the doctors say that i guess you are just a faker or lazy and not trying hard enough because you are probably just borderline again, or a liar, and so nothing is really wrong and so, apparently i am perfectly fine, so i quit therapy and medication over a year ago.

says i am 128 aspie, and 90 the other. and everthing online is meaningless, but also quite as qualified as any doctor or therapist i have ever met, so i like it as a label, but i might only like it because the word PIE is inside Aspie... and pie is pretty good...

Favorite music: Classical (Especially Elgar), 70's rock and anything which doesn't have random 'yo, yo' or too much bass or repetition. In other words, not hip hop or rap.

Books: Anything about AS, TS or OCD.

Why are you here? AS (self-diagnosed)

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): All my AS traits were observed when I was 4 or younger, but the diagnosis didn't exist back then. Diagnosed with ADD in 1984. Diagnosed with auditory processing disorder in 2006. May seek AS diagnosis.

Favorite music: I don't like jazz or classical. Other than that, anything dark, or gloomy, or silly, or in a minor key. All kinds of punk and metal, especially stuff from the 70s.

Books: non-fiction pertaining to my interests
