It's a new day and the freakout didn't last all that long. Better living through modern chemistry, an old TV ad which I equate to...Valium, amoung almost any other drug, hold over giggle from my hiPpie days. The label I have on mine reads " as needed for breakthrough anxiety". Add in some white noise, a soft spot in a darker room and problem solved. I was over tired and was stimming, hard, on Nine Inch Nails doing the The Hand That Feeds and have been for a day or two. I was ripe for the plucking.

Thanks for the music posts, but let me tell ya a little secret about me and my music tastes. When I saw your choices, this day, this is what I was projecting before playing them. The first one I saw I was hoping for Seeman by Rammstein, although I like the Apocalyptica/Nina Hagen version a bit better. The second one I was hoping for anything with Arthur Rubinstein, which ironically enough the third was closer to something he might do. But the third I was hoping for Blackhole Sun by Soundgarden. The forth one was kind of scary looking, as far as the picture on the start of the video looked and wasn't sure what I thought but had a generic inkling..I was damn close in thought to what it turned out to be, but this one actually gave me a big grin and I flashed back to a time where an ex landlady thought I looked like Manilow. Interesting woman and rent day was interesting to say the least, good looker and single, as I was, well the single part and she was obviously star struck with Manilow.

Thanks for your concern and now unfortunately you know more about my musical tastes or lack there of and other stuff no one in their right mind could possibly want to know.

Helicopters, their noise and I are are a strange thing. For living in a very small rural town, this can be a noisy place as far as outside noise goes. Big coal trucks, log trucks, red necks with no mufflers on their trucks or loud mufflers, tractor trailer trucks that use this as a short cut between interstates and so on. I have stayed in many, more city like, settings that were much quieter, but I'm use to the road noise and those I did mention have big spaces of nothing between the onslaughts of noise. Helicopters (medical fly overs) are very rare and hence part of the startle response and for some reason I'm like almost constantly listening for the damn things. Maybe not constant but I notice the noise long before anyone else, kind of like Radar on the old MASH show. I know where it comes from and the wife is mystified why it sets me off, for someone not having been in combat. (I was in combat, but not in what most people equate it to and that a lot of us here have in common) Ironically some that I've talked to that were actually in Vietnam combat find the noise soothing, I suppose that depends on which side you were on too. And some don't seem to notice. Just me and strange, but it flashes me back to the Army and all my hang ups that evolved around it and from it. It helps that I'm just aware of it happening and that I know what did it. There was a time I was blind to the trigger, I'd just go all panic or very unsettled and not have a clue. And now you know more useless information. Not to worry, I have more.

Do you think they or any others understand what it means when we take a test for AS and the tests indicate we are? I mean our response or at least mine goes something like, WOOT!! I'm most likely an Aspie. To them it's like wtf is wrong with you, you want this DX? No, it's not like I was wishing for it, it's more like, "well damn that sure explains an awful lot".

Periodically I go through Aspie Denial. I think ... I'm self DXed, I could be very wrong about this and I take another test and think, no way am I going to come out Aspie on this one. DUH!! You are most likely an Aspie. And the last one I did was one those Myers-Briggs thingys and I saw the results for those taking it here in a poll thread and the same thing. I'm not going to be in the "normal" range for others here. DUH!! My group isn't in the top percent for those that did that game/test, but my group was in a second place. After you take that one it shows others that are in your personality group, you know famous people. Some kind of feel good thing I guess. It's like in my group is Einstein and Thomas Jefferson and of course that means they're my peers in every sense of the word. And you can't talk me out of it. But you want to know what brings me back to earth more often than the need to find some other test? I talk to you guys and I mean this in a most profound, loving manner. It doesn't take long to see myself in others that are considered aspies, it brings a grin to my face and it's that old, Well I'll be damned there are others like me.

I've always had this thing for the cello, especially lady cello players. I don't know why. I'd have to think twice if Nina played the cello though. Actually the picture is kind of scary. No it isn't kind of scary, it is scary. Make it stop.

depends on how rank the cologne was, I suppose! Maybe it was 'Evening in Paris' the ubiquitous scent offered by Woolworth's in the 1950's. THAT would really clear out a room!
