Small talk. It's a social rule.

I am meeting Sleepy tomorrow at Helen's place. Then later in the week she and I may meet somewhere to practice small talk. She is holidaying 2 hours south of me. Why she would holiday at the Gold Coast I will never know when the family could come to paradise.

Today we drove south to Coolangatta/Tweed Heads to do some sightseeing and have lunch. Friends of ours go to a place around Burleigh Heads every year for their holidays. We went past there today, and also went through a number of other suburbs like Mermaid Waters, Miami and so forth. Aside from a few degrees' difference in temperature, those places are not much different from the Northern Beaches suburbs of Wollongong, where we are from.

So, for Something Completely Different™, we come to high-rise territory in Broadbeach! The weather hasn't been great, but we've got high-tech gadgetry to play with, the local restaurants are unbeatable, and the views are unbelievable! Half an hour ago there was a twin-arched rainbow out over the water, and we are high enough up so you could see the entire 360° circle. It was beautiful.
