Okay, Nan, H confirms that if Mr. Handyman won't take the job, she knows she can find someone to take it in exchange for a beer or two. (A lot of our contacts down there are Navy enlisted men, after all...) :)

Thank you. The A/C is due to arrive in two weeks. If Mr. XXXX has not responded in the positive by then, I'll be back in touch. :D

Just got caught up on about three pages. Nan, you made me nervous, when you said that the IRS is saying they have no info on your stimulus check. I just checked on mine, and Lo and Behold, they don't know anything about mine, either! 8O Since it's about 3 am here, I'll have to call them later today to see what is going on. I mailed my return in February, so they should have it by now.

THey're not open on weekends, Hartz. :(

You're right. They're not open today. I may be jumping the gun, but I went back and found a link to do a free e-file, and filed again. Hope they don't accuse me of trying to get two checks. I can't understand how they have no record of my 1040.

Hello everyone. More gardening today. Damp out, bad for bones & joints, (creak-creak) but good for flowers and plants.

Precicely!! ! I've long complained about the "Madison Avenuing" of the United States. Perhaps we could repeal the Ninteenth Amendment.

I am still researching the A/C from the time you asked a couple of days ago, Nan.
(I did find a nice Kenmore that will fit into my window, thought) Sorry, I was a little slow.

Via a wander elsewhere, a short arms list made me laugh, but I had nowhere to post it.

I'm just going to sit here on the rubble, until someone shoes me away. All the furniture is gone. At least the weathers fine, so the lack of roof doesn't matter, yet.

A cigarette and an Absinthe would be appropriate, except that I don't drink or smoke these days.

I'll just put my headphones on and listen to some Brigadoom.

Yesterday was the first anniversary of this New Cafe......

what is 'rock hunting' ?
i get the image of rocks running away (with an amazing speed of course) and krex running after them, bow and arrow ready to use

Ah, it's going out looking for "samples" of various rocks, or geodes, or fossils... You traipse around in canyons and on mountains with your trusty hand-pick and streak plate....
Haven't done that in years. Was one of my obsessions, as a child. I would have been a good geologist, some day, if girls had been geologists back then.

sounds nice
i've always like stones & rocks too (i'd more photograph them then carry ;) )
not at that point of being a geologist though

did you ever hear of this french postman who carried stones in his bag on his tourfor years and build a 'castle' of these stones?
i have visited it, a few years ago, it's so great !

Hi All;

I found it interesting, on the PHD and Masters thread, the number of geology degrees in this community. Seems to be another aspie commonality.

Nor do they demand you stare at them.
