Kind of a neat combo. I like the works of both Ansel Adams,
and Andreas Vollenwieder.
Or this (one of my favorite songs):

This is just a guess, Chuck, but have you tried looking under the carpet?
While we're on the subject of losing things...
Last weekend, as I was about to set off up to London, I picked up my nail scissors, thinking about packing them in my wash-bag. I distinctly remember thinking something like "No, everythings packed away, or something, and I can't be bothered.", so I cut my nails and put the scissors back.
Two hours later, when I had covered the first 100 miles, it suddenly occurred to me why I had had that "or something" bit in my thought. I hadn't brought my wash-bag at all. It was still at home.
Coming back, I worked out that I had lost three hairbrushes. The first I left at my niece's house. The second, I suspect, at my sister's friend's house. The third I wasn't sure about (it used to be in the glove compartment, but I couldn't find it).
After I got back, I found the third one. It was in the glove compartment.

Thank you. The photographs are beautiful and the music was so peaceful. I can go to work with a smile and hopefully I can relax.

Hahaha!
And I used to think we were absentminded. It's been Postie all along!! !
But I never lose my hairbrushes (says a smug bald-headed Chuck).

Before I go, I have to tell you about my big losing something story. I took a package of ground beef out of the freezer and got side-tracked with a batch of laundry. In true ADHD fashion I forgot I had taken the meat out and went upstairs. When I did remember and went to look for it, it was nowhere to be seen. It wasn't in the freezer up or downstairs, it wasn't in the garbage or the wash basket. To this day, I do not know what happened to it. You would have thought it would have made it's wherabout known after a few days but, no... And we have moved to a new house since then so it isn't still lost in my house. ![]()

Yep. Yep. Postie went to bed hungry.
I have a CD with that song set to nature sounds. I have a large collection of classical and easy listening relaxation music, just no time to enjoy them, ironic, isn't it?

A day in the life...
Got up around 7:30, to find that the puppy hadn't been able to wait for me. Cleaned up the stains and the lump, set coffee going, got Iain up. H was waking up around that time; worked for a while on getting ArmyWife to acknowledge the webcam, so she and J could do the videophone thing. While we were working on that, checked the bank, found that the $400 bonus I was due hadn't appeared. About that time, H's friend on Whidbey Island called - apparently, she'd taken out a payday loan shortly before leaving Arizona (some months ago), and hadn't gotten around to paying them back. Now she needs more than $600. Apologized, told her that even if we were willing to help (which we're not, but didn't say that part), we haven't got an extra six bills just lying around. (J's reenlistment bonus went to his snappy new Hyundai Accent - he wanted a car that got good mileage, with fair performance - and to replacing DarkAngel.)
Eventually got the webcam working, played with the kids while H and J chatted. For some reason, his mic isn't working, so he had to type everything he said. After Iain had gotten his waffle and chocolate milk, he sat in Mommy's lap so he could gurgle and point at Daddy on the screen. (He's not speaking really clearly yet, but "Dad-dad-dad-dad!!" was easily understood.)
They had a nice convo, which helped calm some of her anxiety (did I mention her anxiety disorder? More on that later), and then, after they got off the cams, we got a nice note in the mail from J's CO, congratulating her on his reenlistment and her support (and mentioning that he's now the Colonel's driver, which makes us feel a little better about what he's doing out there...). So that was nice. I was still waiting (and am still waiting) for a callback from work, on what happened to that bonus. So, about 11am, I put Iain down for his nap, while H got ready for her day - she tried to fill her prescriptions yesterday at the Army pharmacy, only to find that the physician had neglected to sign. By the time she was ready to go, it was clear Iain wasn't sleepy - yet. So, off she went, while I squeezed in a fe minutes to play "Def Jam - Fight For MY" on the XBox (hey, a little pointless virtual violence never hurt anyone outside the Matrix, right?). A bit later, she came back in the door, distraught. Seems the information desk's only offer of help was to give her the doc's extension - and the doc's not going to be in again until Wednesday. Now, had they given her a small supply of Xanax before, she might have been able to deal with this - but all this just kicked the anxiety up to high gear, so she came home. After a time, I managed to convince her to call the hospital to see what they could do. Then, when she was connected to the nurses' station, her call was accidentally disconnected. She couldn't bring herself to call again - anxiety, dontcha know. So I called in, waded through people until I could reach someone who would actually help (hey, when I get pissed off on her behalf, I can accomplish superhuman feats - like talking to strangers!), and sent her back over to the hospital to get the papers signed.
She's at the pharmacy now, where we found out that the reason she's having trouble breathing is because she was supposed to be weaned off prednisone, which they had been giving her, and instead she went two days without any. I got Iain down for his nap again, and this time I think he's actually sleeping. Morgana's been mercifully calm today, other than demanding three servings of waffles (with her texture issues, about all we have on hand just now that she'll eat is waffles and chicken nuggets).
Oh, by the way, it's 3:23 pm right now.
This is why I took advantage of the Family Emergency Medical Leave Act, which allows up to twelve weeks off to care for family members in a situation like this. Unpaid, of course, but I was going to take the time anyway, this just ensures I'll still have a job afterwards.

Just as I was about to lift the carpet, I noticed that impressed into its fibers was the very image of a sleeping Postie, rather like the the image found on the Shroud of Turin!

Underneath the carpet, I found my car, and what can only be described as the continent of Antarctica.

Did I tell you about my paintbrush?...
Same here. I find it impossible to experience any "motivation" to do anything for myself. If it's on behalf of another person, I seethe, then go berserk.

One day...one day.. you will be old and stiff, and you will remember the frantic years of child rearing, inefficient coping strategies, blood pumping running around in circles, and you will wonder, "How did I cope?"
Ahh.. Here's a paint brush covered in hair - two types of hair. Could it be Lau's hair, and Postpaleo's?
I saw someone shuffle past me earlier. It was Helen on her way back to bed. She's been on another planet.
..................
Lau, why do you find it more relaxing to be with other aspies? Is it because of neutral body language? Or the lack of small talk? Or only engaging if your interests are sparked?
..................
Chuck, Chuck, Chuck......
Well, I'm off to report you all to the Ministry of Conformity. It hurts me as much as it hurts you, but we must keep out society bland. We can't have paranoria and madness seething in the masses, bubbling up. God no! Ta ta
