CARnage. Think CARnage. You want to gridlock Tennessee forever?! And experience all that associated guilt? I didn't think so. Good thing I look out for you the way I do.

Yes, whatever would I do without you. :P

Talk about CARnage! My van was stuck in the snowdrift in front of my house for 3 days before my neighbors helped me dig it out. It was a mess on the city roads here. In one day my sons and I helped push 9 cars, trucks, SUV's and school bus who were stuck at the corner right in front of my house. If it hadn't been so time consuming, it may have been funny.

Vancouverites are much like Tennesseans when it comes to snow: One flake hits the pavement, and everybody panics. Then, that night, the evening TV news runs a clip reel of everyone's cars sliding into the ditches, to the sound of "The Skater's Waltz." :)

It is the same with London. Everything stops, even the railways.

It was some years ago, when I worked in Cambridgeshire an commuted the approx. 50 km by rail. At a day in December there was some snowfall, just a 3 cm or 4 cm. Knowing the Biritish attitude to snow, I did not left house prior 10h00, at the railstation they were still running an "Emergency Service", because of "Severe Weather Condition" (just to remember: England is a north-western European country). Finally I made it to 15h00 into the office, just to discover that the office had been closed, because they did not wanted to "risk the lives" of their employees.

Don't the lawyers have the right to exclude potential jurors with strongly held views that could bias the outcome of the trial? Do you think you could fake opinionated?

The wisdom of Master Nishigaki is spreading! I just saw this article on The Clench Connection. That's what they named the link from the home page to the article. Really.

The President's exercise regime is obviously based on Nishigaki Thinking, but it is unclear whether Sarkozy has yet reached the stage where he can shoot his immaterial fibre.

Following on from The Sandman, here's a relevant quote:
Pratchett wrote:
Let's see, now... in HOGFATHER there are a number of stabbings, someone's killed by a man made of knives, someone's killed by the dark, and someone's just been killed by a wardrobe. It's a book about the magic of childhood. You can tell.

Searching for that quote, I found an interview with some interesting thoughts about writing for children.

I don't think that is a fair description, as it stands. It was probably the wrong kind of snow.

I think it's time for birthday lemon squares:

Dang. This never happened (sorry for the squirrel, though) when ~I~ was at school. Sadly.

Investigators said the squirrel touched two power lines at the same time and fell to the ground near Britton and Hiawassee roads.
